It brought the total for the year to more than 32.75 million airport travelers. During the month of December, the number of international passengers almost increased double digits for the month compared to the year ago period. More than two million international visitors used Cancun International Airport in December. This was a 9.3 percent increase over the same numbers for 2022. This brought the total for 2023 to 20.91 million international passengers which was a 6.5 percent increase over the counts for 2022 when 19.6 million tourists visited. Tourism Department announced this week that St. John’s Honeymoon Beach made the shortlist in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ 2024 Choice Awards for the region’s best beaches. The public has the opportunity to vote for the St. John beach once per day on the USA Today website until Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, at noon ET. 10Best is a travel media site that has been promoted and operated by USA Today since 2013. The site boasts 5 million visitors per month. Nominees for the Best Caribbean Beach award are selected by a panel of multiple Caribbean travel experts.
