Cubana de Aviación cancels flights on the Madrid-Santiago de Cuba-Havana route

Cubana de Aviación, S.A. informed tour operators, travel agencies and customers of the immediate cancellation of flights CU471/CU470 on the Madrid-Santiago de Cuba-Havana-Santiago de Cuba-Madrid route, effective May 12, 2026.

According to the company’s official statement, the operator contracted to operate these flights notified the airline of the cancellation in response to the risks arising from the Executive Order of May 1, 2026, issued by the President of the United States. This situation constitutes a force majeure event, beyond the control of the Cuban airline.

Cubana de Aviación requests that tour operators and travel agencies inform their clients that ticket refunds will be issued in accordance with current regulations. The airline’s General Management appreciates the understanding shown in this exceptional situation.
