Rutaca Airlines resumes operations to Cuba from Venezuela
The International Group of Tour Operators and Travel Agencies, Havanatur SA, received aircraft 5R-2232 of the Venezuelan airline Rutaca Airlines on Friday morning at the José Martí International Airport.
Yoelkis Salazar Rivery, director general of Havanatur, along with other executives, welcomed passengers and crew. A large group of travel agents and press representatives arrived in the Cuban capital to learn about products and destinations that will be marketed as part of the tourism options that Venezuelan travelers can enjoy in the Caribbean archipelago.
According to statements from airline executives, the flights will include two weekly frequencies, on Mondays and Fridays. The aircraft will take off from the city of Valencia in the state of Carabobo, Venezuela, directly to Havana, Cuba. The flight time is approximately three and a half hours.
This flight route is the result of negotiations between the Alba Tours Agency and the Havanatur Group, with the aim of bringing the two destinations closer together.
Tour packages will allow visitors to explore Havana, Viñales, and Varadero for short stays, and also offer the possibility of other options designed for those who wish to spend more time on the island.
