Cuban chefs win passage to the world championship

Chef Enoch Tamayo was the champion, with the collaboration of Kevin Pérez, who qualified directly for the world championship in Singapore.

The most anticipated competition by the community of chefs in America, the Claudio Ferrer Continental Cup, was held in Argentina for the first time, with the participation of twenty teams, and Cuba won important awards.

According to reports from the city of Mar del Plata, venue of the event, in the Senior category – for gastronomic professionals – chef Enoch Tamayo was the champion, with the collaboration of Kevin Pérez, who gave direct qualification to the world championship in Singapore .

In the Junior Chef category, for students of culinary institutes or chefs under 24 years of age, Kevin Pérez and Isabella Tamayo won silver medals.

Tamale in ajiaco cimarrón sauce, fish “siglo de las luzes”, shrimp with mojito and the “casaña” cimarrona – or lasagna prepared with casabe – were some of the dishes with which the Cubans competed.
