Whether you’re a devoted beachcomber, an avid wildlife watcher, or a piña colada connoisseur, there’s something for everyone in the Caribbean. Which can make choosing a destination from among the region’s 700-plus islands—each with their own rhythm, flavor, and style—a bit overwhelming. That’s where the findings from a new report by Iglu Cruise come in.

In March, the cruise company released its rankings of the Caribbean’s best attractions. Lush Hunte’s Gardens in Barbados topped the list.

To create their report, the team pulled data from TripAdvisor to find the 60 most popular attractions in the Caribbean, then calculated the percentage of five-star, “excellent” reviews for each spot. Hunte’s Garden, with more than 90 percent excellent reviews and year-round accessibility, was the clear winner. “A world-renowned botanical garden located in the central hills of St. Joseph, Hunte’s Garden consistently ranks as the top thing to do in the country,” Iglu’s experts noted.

Visitors to the garden can stroll among a wide range of flowers and plants, exploring species both endemic to the island and sourced from across the globe. The garden’s sculptural orchids, giant cabbage palms, and vibrant purple lilies can hold their own against even the most color-saturated tropical sunsets.

Next on the list is Grace Bay Beach, in Turks and Caicos, which clocks in at a close second with 89 percent excellent reviews.

“Located on the northeast coast of the island of Providenciales, the beach is famous for its picture-perfect white sand that stretches over three miles,” Iglu Cruise wrote. “The clear, turquoise waters are also perfect for swimming and snorkeling.”

While a number of the top 10 spots went to beaches, including Flamenco Beach in Puerto Rico at No. 3, Playa Paraíso, Cuba at No. 5, and Eagle Beach, Aruba at No. 8, the Iglu list included a few more adventurous options, too. One example: the No. 4 location, Stingray City in Grand Cayman.

The Cayman Islands attraction offers visitors a chance to observe, and even interact with, wild southern stingrays in their natural habitat, a once-in-a-lifetime experience that’s earned a nearly 86 percent excellence score among travelers. Visit from December to April for the best chance of warm temperatures and dry weather.
