The rhythm of jazz at the Iberostar Selection La Habana

A collaboration by Rachell Cowan

Starting July 17, Thursday nights at the Iberostar Selection La Habana will be filled with jazz. From the 41st floor of the tower, the “Habana Blues” Sky Bar invites you to discover the best views of the city with this musical genre as the soundtrack.

According to Alexei Torres Velázquez, director of Communications and Marketing for the hotel chain, JazzHabana is an event that will transform the nights of the Cuban capital from the heights of the Iberostar hotel. Located on the 41st floor of this 42-story colossus — the tallest building in Cuba, with panoramic views 155 meters above sea level — the Habana Blues Bar will host jazz sessions every Thursday in a sophisticated atmosphere where the music will merge with the majesty of the Havana skyline.

From the first day, the public will be able to enjoy the talent of the Hermanos Abreu, and the initiative is expected to enhance the urban cultural offers, connecting tradition and modernity with great music.

Recently opened in the heart of Vedado, the Iberostar Selection La Habana is an emblem of the transformation of Cuban hotels. With 594 rooms free of single-use plastics and a design inspired by national film — paying homage to movies such as Habana Blues and Fresa y Chocolate — the hotel includes unique spaces such as the Havana Executive Lounge (42nd floor).

The Habana Blues Bar, the event venue, combines avant-garde design with exceptional acoustics and a capacity for 120 people. It also offers national and international cocktails of the highest quality.

The Havana Jazz nights are aligned with Iberostar’s Wave of Change sustainable tourism strategy, which prioritizes authentic experiences linked to the local community.

TTC recommends arriving before sunset to enjoy golden views of the Malecón, for an unforgettable experience. This project consolidates Iberostar’s commitment to urban hospitality, which already represents 20% of its portfolio in Cuba, with hotels in other heritage cities like Trinidad.
