L’Eroica cycling tour returns to Cuba for the second time

The second edition of the L’Eroica cycling tour will take place in Cuba on February 9, 2025, as announced by its organizers in the Italian city of Florence.

The Habana500 restaurant hosted the event presentation with an evening of food, music and an exhibition of Valentino Borgia’s paintings.

Guests recalled the first edition in which some 120 cyclists, 80 of them Italians, cycled the long route stretching 140 kilometers through the province of Artemisa and another short route of 100km along slopes between the municipalities of Caimito, Guanajay, Artemisa and Candelaria.

On the second day of the event, the cyclists departed from Havana’s 13 de Marzo Park toward the Malecón, and covered the main roads of Nuevo Vedado, Ciudad Deportiva, Boyeros and Avenida de los Presidentes before finishing in La Piragua.

In a press conference at the 2023 edition of L’Eroica, cyclist Eduardo Alonso, winner of the Vuelta Ciclística a Cuba race, announced that Cuba would continue to host the sporting event in 2025 and 2026.

Once again, the official incoming agency for participants will be Havanatur, which continues to promote event tourism in Cuba.

The L’Eroica cycling tour has also been held in California, Japan, South Africa and several European cities.
