Havana Club Tributo 2025: An exceptional blend created by the Cuban rum masters

By Daily Pérez Guillén

Havana Club’s Iconica brand adds an eighth limited edition of its Tributo rum. A total of 2,967 bottles contain a perfect representation of the know-how of the Cuban rum masters, Cuban culture and productive excellence, as summarized by Christian Barré, CEO of Havana Club International S.A. at the launch of this new spirit.

Tributo 2025 is a blend of innovation and tradition, based on the association between the world of Irish whiskey and Cuban rum.

“We have combined the experience of the Cuban rum masters and the Havana Club masters in particular, with the heritage and know-how of the master distillers of Redbreast Irish whiskey, a very emblematic and well-known brand, probably considered one of the finest brands in the world, a 100% pot still whiskey,” explained Barré, referring to the oak barrels originally used to age Redbreast, the world’s most awarded Pot Still Irish Whiskey.

Meanwhile, Rum Master Asbel Morales revealed that the rum was aged in 500-liter barrels and poured directly into the bottles after five years without touching the blend. Hence, the deep mahogany color of the drink is totally natural and the beverage contains 43% ABV, he assured.

Morales also highlighted the artistry of the Cuban Rum Masters who, with this blend, introduce a new dimension to their craft and create a truly extraordinary expression.

Tributo 2025 is designed to be sipped and savored. Fine palate experts identify warm aromas of vanilla, dried fruit and subtle sherry notes in the drink, as well as silky layers of candied orange, fruitcake and fried banana, delicately balanced with spicy nuances and toasted oak. The finish is long and pronounced, revealing notes of raisins and red fruits.

A press release by the international company reports the impressions of David McCabe, master blender at the Midleton distillery: “When the opportunity to collaborate with Havana Club arose, we were delighted and privileged to be involved in this exciting project. Redbreast and the Cuban Rum Masters share a deep respect for traditional know-how, passing on knowledge and the relentless pursuit of excellence. This collaboration is a tribute to that shared commitment, bringing together two iconic spirits that honor craftsmanship while pushing the boundaries of flavor exploration.”

Tributo 2025 is launched with a new presentation style in terms of both the brand and the bottle, which seeks to align itself with the highest international standards and with its sisters of the Iconica family. The label design features the Giraldilla, symbol of the city of Havana, and the rays of the sun. The shape of the glass evokes the architecture of the palaces of the Cuban capital. The luxurious FSC-certified case combines sustainability with contemporary sophistication, accentuated by rich burgundy and copper details.

National Sales and Marketing Director of Havana Club International, Ahmed Álvarez, stressed that this new product strengthens the premiumization strategy of this joint enterprise, which seeks increasing sales.

Since its creation in 2016, the Tributo collection has honored Cuba’s rich rum heritage and culture, while exalting the unique character of the island’s best and oldest treasured reserves.

Havana Club Tributo 2025 will be available in more than 20 international markets beginning in April with a retail price of 450 euros. In the Cuban market, the product will be marketed from February 6 through the online store www.ronencasa.com.

Havana Club is the most dynamically growing brand in the portfolio of Pernod Ricard, the joint venture’s foreign partner. In the last fiscal year, running from July 2023 through June 2024, it grew by 8% internationally.
