Cuban tourism sector is reorganized in correspondence with the new normality to continue boosting national’s economic development, Cuban Ministry of Tourism ( MINTUR) stressed on Twitter
On the occasion of the celebration on November 20, the Cuban Tourism Day, a date that recalls the 62nd anniversary of the creation of the first agency specialized in tourism in the country, National Institute of the Tourism Industry (INIT by its Spanish acronym).
According to ACN Cuban agency on November 20, 2019, just 60 years after the founding of INIT, the date was established as Cuban Tourism Day according to Presidential Decree 382, with the purpose of paying tribute to all those people and institutions that support or are involved in the development of this important economic sector for the island.
MINTUR sent an acknowledgement to all workers of the sector who supported the country during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the reopening of tourism on November 15, the industry is gradually resuming its dynamism. The mission remains the same, to boost the economy and generate income that contributes to increase and raise the quality and welfare of the Cuban people.
