Coronavirus: Caution in Cuba about tourism reopen

Cuba need to increase the commercialization of tourism in Havana because the Capital city has the potential to attract more holidaymakers, an official source said.

During a meeting with executives the Cuban Primer Minister Manuel Marrero support the quality improve in services “in order to offer a competitive product, which requires agile and innovative thinking cadres who seek solutions to problems”, he said, cited by local press.

The Cuba government discussed elements of the tourism industry recovery strategy, as well as the priorities for 2022 in a city that has 79 hotels with a total capacity of 13,000 rooms.

Marrero added that both the state-owned and private companies need to achieve more impact on the reduction of imports.

“It is necessary to encourage the joint work of all economic tourism stockholders in Havana, in order to achieve more attractive products”, he said.
