Belize’s Prime Minister John Antonio Briceño visited Cuba to develop meetings with authorities and deepen the blateral bonds in biotechnology facilities and tourism among other sectors.
Briceño is also the Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Investments. Belize maintain cooperation with Cuba since July 15, 1995, and maintain it in the areas of health and human resources training.
Since 1990, more than 1,000 Cuban collaborators have provided services in that nation and 122 health and sports professionals are currently working there.
The two countries also carried out projects in the areas of culture, environmental preservation, sugar industry, fishing, construction and tourism.
According to the Foreign Ministry, 54 scholarship holders from Belize are currently studying in Cuba.
