ExpoBodas 2025: Cuba presents itself as a dream wedding destination

A collaboration by Rachell Cowan Canino

The Hotel Nacional de Cuba, a symbol of Caribbean hospitality, will host the second edition of ExpoBodas, the country’s most important event dedicated to the wedding and associated event industry, from September 4 to 6. The fair will capitalize on the boom in wedding tourism on the island, offering professionals and couples a comprehensive showcase of premium services in a destination that combines heritage, beaches, and unique hospitality.

Organized by the travel agency Cubatur, the event will bring together wedding planners, tour operators, suppliers, and specialized media, with a program that includes business roundtables and presentations of exclusive locations. On Wednesday, September 3, a pre-event will be held for participants, including activities to familiarize themselves with the charms of Havana, while the closing ceremony will include a post-fair experience in Varadero, where attendees will explore ideal locations for beachfront ceremonies.

Mónica Restrepo, director general of the Forever Wedding Summit, will give a keynote address on “Destination Weddings,” sharing strategies for designing personalized events from intimate ceremonies to luxurious celebrations. Her participation underscores Cuba’s potential as a competitive market, where colonial palaces, tobacco plantations, and pristine keys offer cinematic backdrops.

Saturday the 6th will be open to the general public, with free admission for couples seeking inspiration. More than 50 exhibitors will showcase offerings in gastronomy, catering, floral arrangements, photography, and clothing, highlighting services with a Made in Cuba seal such as artisanal embroidery, aged rums, and vintage transportation.
