Caribbean leaders gather for WTTC Global Summit in Rome
The Caribbean is strongly represented at the 25th Global Summit of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), taking place September 28–30 in Rome, Italy, with participation from leaders across the public and private tourism sectors.
The Dominican Republic is represented by the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) and Asonahores, alongside prominent figures such as Haydée Kuret de Rainieri and Puerto Rico Tourism Company director Willanette Robles. Tourism expert Enrique de Marchena recalled his first summit attendance in Brazil years ago, noting that new Caribbean leaders are now carrying forward the region’s presence on the global stage.
Held under the theme “The Great Beauty (of Travel),” the summit gathers over 310 CEOs and officials from 65 countries.
