Big Game Trolling Tournament to be held in Jardines del Rey

Cuba is once again attracting the attention of sport fishing enthusiasts with the upcoming Big Game Trolling International Fishing Tournament in the Jardines del Rey tourist destination.

Organized by Marinas Marlin, the tournament will run between October 14 and 19, taking advantage of the potential offered by the northern area of Cayos Coco and Cayos Guillermo. The fishing area extends up to five miles north-northeast between the aforementioned islets, and is home to abundant pelagic and billfish species such as casteros, wahoo, white and fan marlin, and dorado. Experts note that October through December is the peak period for these species off the Cuban keys, particularly the fan marlin or veil fish.

The tournament is open to professionals and amateurs, those interested in sport fishing, and those who love this magical world, whether or not they are members of fishing clubs and federations, and who wish to learn more about the sea and its species.
