Dominica was the fastest growing economy in the entire Latin America and the Caribbean region

Photo: Simon Dannhauer A new report by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) from the United Nations indicates that the Commonwealth of Dominica was the fastest growing economy in the entire Latin America and the Caribbean region in 2019. The island's GDP is said to have jumped up by 9%, attributed to Citizenship by Investment (CBI), soaring tourism numbers and public sector construction. Foreign investors sought to obtain second citizenship from Dominica through the CBI Programme, choosing to either make a minimum US$100,000 contribution to a government fund or invest in pre-approved real estate, such as luxury resorts and boutique hotels. Some reasons driving investors' trust are linked to them seeking to belong to a stable democracy with great diplomatic relations, a trustworthy business environment and a promising economic future. Importantly, Dominica's CBI Programme is considered the best in the world, employing reliable due diligence [...]

Photo: Shao-Chung Wang/123RF By Frank Martin TTC Service.-Japan's interest in the Caribbean islands is growing over the years and tourism is undoubtedly among the economic sectors favored by this inclination. Mexico has named its most ‘magical’ villages

Photo: Simon Dannhauer Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism announced in 2001 it was developing a program to highlight the most beautiful and culturally-rich towns in the country. With more to offer than just beach resorts, ports of call and salt-rimmed margaritas, Mexico focused on the small towns and villages that best represent regional traditions, history, festivals and food. The chosen few would be named Mexico’s “Pueblos Magicos,” or magic villages. Today, there are 121 such villages, some of which will ring a bell — like Tulum and Tequila — while others likely won’t. For the first time in the history of our Tourism development, Belize has surpassed the half-million mark in overnight arrivals.
