Cuba activates new Electronic Visa Platform Cuba's Tourism Minister Juan Carlos García said Wednesday that the country guarantees security, greater agility and simplification in visa application processes with the activation of a new electronic visa platform. The head of the social network X said that the Evisa platform is "modern and secure" and also allows users to start their procedures online from any device connected to the Internet. Dominican Republic, unstoppable: achieves record 6.9 million visitors through July Tourism continues to register “sustained and extraordinary” growth in the Dominican Republic, reaching a record 6,968,623 visitors in the first seven months of this year, which brings the historic figure of 31,947,565 visits from August 2020 to July 2024. Although Tulum’s archaeological site ranks among the top five most visited in Mexico, it experienced a 23.6% decline in visitors during the first half of this year compared to the same period last year. In 2023, Tulum received 765,510 visitors, but this year, that number dropped to 585,078. These figures are according to a report by the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH). Interestingly, Chichén Itzá remains the most popular archaeological site, attracting over a million visitors in the first half of 2024, with 835,878 of them being international tourists.
