Focused on promoting digital development, the battle against climate change, the development of education for all the people and a far-reaching health care system are the main lines of work of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, which is celebrating 50 years of its foundation. This was stated by the Ambassador of that nation in Cuba, His Excellency Mr. Abdool Halim Majeed, during the official reception held in Havana, Cuba, to commemorate the event. Likewise, he highlighted the good commercial and tourist relations between Cuba and Guyana that are growing and strengthening. The ties that unite both nations were also highlighted by Mr. Cecil Pilgrim, the first Guyanese ambassador to the island, one of the main drivers of these links. An example of these strong ties is the presence in Cuba of Caribbean Airlines, which connects both countries and has more than 160 weekly flights in the region.
