Tourism authority sponsors Summer Ball in London

The Bermuda Tourism Authority was unveiled as the headline sponsor of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s annual Caribbean Summer Ball to be held in London.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Kia Oval on June 13 during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which is being jointly hosted by the Caribbean and the United States.

Jamari Douglas, vice-president of marketing, PR and communications at the Bermuda Tourism Authority, said the organisation was honoured to sponsor the event for the first time and collaborate with the CTO.

“Our partnership is part of a broader strategy to enhance our presence and promotional efforts in the UK,” he said.

“By sponsoring the CTO Summer Ball, the BTA aims to further elevate Bermuda’s profile as a premier travel destination for a diverse array of travellers.

“We are confident that this partnership will enhance our engagement with key stakeholders and drive increased visitor arrivals from the UK and Europe.”

Mr Douglas added that the event sponsorship was part of a larger strategic marketing plan in Britain to reinforce commitment to the key market.

“The BTA has launched a comprehensive campaign in partnership with The Telegraph, leveraging inspiring storytelling-led content, print advertorials, digital ads and a highly curated private event to position Bermuda as the ideal holiday destination,” he said.

“This campaign highlights Bermuda’s rich diversity, culture, wellness, sustainability and sports.

“Additionally, we have collaborated directly with British Airways Holidays on a city sale to promote direct flights from the UK to Bermuda.

“Our efforts also extend to working with tour operators and the travel trade to pitch Bermuda, and we have established strategic partnerships with JetBlue, NYC Tourism + Conventions, and other tourism organisations.”
