The route of the Cuban identity, a memorable experience with Gran Caribe

By: Rachell Cowan Canino

Heritage, tradition, gastronomy, cocktails, roots and experiences, that is what the route of the Cuban identity is about, which is proposed every month by the Gran Caribe Hotel Group in Havana. It will have its first edition from May 28 to 31.

With a program designed for the enjoyment and knowledge of the details that make Cuba, and in this case, Havana, unique; comes this proposal that is meant to be one of the most attractive proposals aimed at foreign travelers.

In a period of four days, the participants will have the opportunity to live the Cuban culture through different activities and events. For example, the first day there will be a tour of the Havana Historic Center, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982.

Walking through the four founding squares and concluding with the most famous mojito in the world, served at La Bodeguita del Medio, are happenings that will make your visit a wonderful memory.

Gran Caribe and another group of collaborators such as Meliá Hotels International Cuba, Blue Diamond Resort, NH Hotels and ROC Hotels aim to make customers who buy this offer happy because of their originality.

With the tourist package, emblematic facilities such as the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, the Hotel Sevilla, the Hotel Plaza and the Hotel Habana Libre are combined. In this way the client will be able to know their stories first hand, as well as the services and sites of interest associated with them.

Exclusively for Travel Trade Caribbean, Yosjady Ferrer García, Commercial Director of the Gran Caribe Hotel Group commented that “The route of the Cuban identity responds to the need for the client not only to stay in one of these hotels but also to be on a tour through old Havana and modern Havana, as well as doing tastings in gastronomic places that are iconic”.

Hand in hand with Cubatur, an offer was conceived in which a stay is sold (from Sunday to Wednesday) together with excursions designed to connect with traditions and history of Cuba.

Another of the most attractive points of the program will be a day at Villa Mirador del Valle in East Havana. In this country place you will enjoy a typical Cuban lunch and the experience of living together and getting to know the authentic peasant life, through the living conditions, animals and customs.

The nights of the four days will be very entertaining with live Cuban music or the excellence of the Parisién cabaret shows; as well as legendary percussion and dance classes with renowned artists from the Island.

So it’s all about making a difference. “In the sector there are not few facilities that represent a major competition for us and we have to try to mark a distinctive seal.

Therefore, from now on, our hotels will have that seal. Some of them are over a hundred years old and the client chooses them for this cultural and symbolic distinction that they have, with the route we will distinguish that memorable experience”, said Ferrer García.

The route of the Cuban identity awaits you. To learn more about the program and to book, here is all the information.
