Russian vacationers set to return to Guardalavaca, in Holguín

By Daily Pérez Guillén

Starting next summer, the tourist resort of Holguín, in eastern Cuba, will once again receive Russian tourists.

The news emerged in the context of FITUR, after the Cubanacan Hotel Group signed an agreement with the tour operator Pegas Touristik.

According to statements made by the President of the Cuban chain, Gipsy Hernández, flights with capacity for more than 400 travelers will arrive at the Frank País International Airport in that province from the beginning of the summer season.

Holguín is one of the main destinations in the Caribbean country and the most important sun and beach destination in the eastern zone. This region of the country is also home to sites of natural and historical interest, which are attractive for tourist activities.

Specifically in the area of Guardalavaca, Cubanacan operates hotels that are among the best in its catalog.

More than 185,000 Russian vacationers arrived in Cuba in 2024 to rank as the third largest source market for foreign tourists to the island. Forecasts indicate that the number will continue to grow.
