With a broad holiday portfolio and exclusive offers for different audiences, Roc Hotels is consolidating its position in Cuba. In the last two years, this chain has doubled its number of rooms and now has approximately 1,700 spread across the main tourist resorts of the Caribbean country.

In its network of facilities, the emblematic “Roc Presidente” stands out in Havana, which celebrated its 95th anniversary last December. Margherita Sgroi, commercial director of the company on the island, noted the hotel is distinguished by its “privileged position in the capital city and its characteristics, one of the most iconic.” She told TTC that the chain is currently in the process of repositioning this facility through constant renovation, with a plan to reopen the swimming pool area on May 31 and inaugurate a convention room in the near future.

The commercial director of the renowned Spanish chain also highlighted among the novelties that since January, Roc has been managing the “El Viejo y el Mar” Hotel, located in Havana’s Marina Hemingway, together with the Cubanacan Group, where rooms with sea views have been restored. “All of them are beautiful, with a style that evokes the colors of the Caribbean Sea, spacious and comfortable. Work has also been done in all the common areas and the lobby. We are currently refurbishing the restaurant and will soon be opening another small restaurant specializing in seafood.”

She also highlighted a strategic alliance with the Marina Marlin company, belonging to the Cubasol Business Group, to market international packages aimed at niche markets related to deep-sea fishing and diving. “In addition, we have two new types of rooms in this hotel. In the bungalows surrounding the swimming pool area, the Roc Family Plus rooms can accommodate up to four adults and six children in two renovated communicating bungalows, and on the other hand, the Octoplus rooms can accommodate up to eight adults. These products are unique in Havana for their accommodation capacities.”

The chain also offers novelties in the main Cuban seaside resort of Varadero. “The refurbishment of residential blocks at the reference hotel for families, Roc Arenas Doradas, with 316 rooms, is about to be completed. We have opened a new, completely refurbished restaurant with Italian specialities, a mini club and a beach access boulevard with beach bars offering everything from cocktails, natural juices and fast food to handcrafted products.

“On the other hand, the Roc Barlovento, located in the heart of Varadero, is perfect for those looking for such a product. It is about to start refurbishing its rooms. It is worth mentioning that the doors of a completely new ranch-style restaurant have been opened and that soon we will inaugurate, as at Roc Arenas Doradas, a lounge restaurant for the exclusive Roc Plus service,” Sgroi explained.

Before finishing, the commercial director shared another new development with TTC: “We are going to be the administrators of a very ambitious project. On May 31, the groundworks will be finished and it will open its doors as a new product at the end of 2026 on the eastern beaches of the capital, with 313 luxury flats (one and two bedrooms) on the beachfront, with all the services of a hotel. A leisure center will open next to it, with a spa, swimming pool for adults and splash pool for children, entertainment theater, restaurants and bars.”

“The key to the success of our small but large hotel chain is the professional service of the traditional hotel business and the personalized service. International opinion sites endorse our guest satisfaction ratings, while transparency with our professional customers gives us credibility in all our contractual relationships,” the specialist of the prestigious chain stressed. “The growth in repeat business is the calling card of Roc Hotels without a doubt,” she concluded.
