Eight Italian companies linked to the health and medicine sector are participating these days, through the ICE-Agency for promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies, in the Health for All Trade Fair that is in session, until next October 20, at Pabexpo, Havana.

One of these companies, which repeats its presence at the event, is Comes Fratelli Colombo SRL, whose higher entity, Comes-Italy, is positioned among the world’s largest manufacturers of machinery for making lenses for high-precision equipment in the optical industry; while offering a full range of accessories, consumables, know-how and technical assistance.

Present in Cuba for more than 40 years, COMES machinery is found in the country’s optics, thanks to the equipment and technology marketing companies’ action.

Currently, the company makes direct sales, as a factory, to the health system on the Caribbean island.

Gesys Cordova, sales manager of Comes Fratelli Colombo SRL, told TTC that today her entity maintains direct commercial relations with Medicuba, the Technical Supplies Import and Export Company (EMIAT) and the Office of the City of Havana Historian.

Likewise, she said that that the company has more than 140 machines installed and in operation in Cuba.

Comes technology contributes to the improvement of optical services throughout the Cuban territory, and to reducing the delivery times of eyeglasses to patients in need.

She also affirmed that, with the acquisition of this equipment, Cuba is positioned as similar to the countries of the region and the most developed in Europe, in terms of technologies for the manufacture of ophthalmological prescription lenses.

Cimeq Hospital, in Havana, has Comes FreeForm technology. Since 2015, they have had a complete laboratory in that health institution; a workshop that has the advantage of reducing costs associated with production.

Italy is also represented at this fair by the companies CPM S.R.L., R & P Company S.R.L., Comei S.R.L., My Luna Lady Venezia, C.S. Gisinti Paolo. SRL, Itame Consult SRL, Ceracarta SPA, in addition to the institutional participation of ICE that has the presence of the LED SPA company.
