The Gaviota Tourism Group celebrated the partial reopening of the Hotel Playa Punta Hicacos on Friday.
At the reopening event, Carlos M. Latuff, president of the company, stressed that since its inauguration on February 7, 2005, this facility has been a benchmark for sun and beach tourism in Cuba’s largest tourist resort.
“The Hotel Playa Punta Hicacos is fortunate to be in a privileged setting, on one of Varadero’s most beautiful beaches. Its white sands, crystal-clear waters and peaceful atmosphere make this an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation, sun and sea,” he said.
He also explained that this is just the beginning, since a second phase will include services associated with the Playa Kids brand, a space designed especially for children’s enjoyment; and Playa Luxury, a proposal focused on those seeking a luxurious and exclusive experience.
294 rooms of the hotel’s Family section will start operating, bringing the total number of rooms to 548.
This reopening strengthens Gaviota’s beach brand in Cuba’s largest resort, where the renowned Hotel Playa Vista Azul hotel also operates.
This facility will offer a wide range of services and spaces, with options for couples, families and friends, on an all-inclusive basis.
Bars with a variety of cocktails, specialized restaurants and buffets, entertainment, nautical options and a relaxed atmosphere are some of the attractions highlighted by the Gaviota Tourism Group for this hotel that combines luxury, comfort and authenticity in one of the most beautiful destinations in the Caribbean, 40 km from the Juan Gualberto Gómez International Airport and 12 km from downtown Varadero.
