“Within the Caribbean, we are the country with the largest number of heritage sites and here we have the opportunity to promote this type of tourism and reach travel agencies interested in this modality,” Mora explains.
The Villa de Trinidad, Old Havana and its System of Fortifications, the Historic Urban Center of the cities of Cienfuegos and Camagüey, the San Pedro de la Roca Castle in Santiago de Cuba, among others, are some of the sites recognized by UNESCO for their heritage value.
Friday, the second day of the event, will see an exhibition of rumba organized by the Cuban Ministry of Tourism and the Cuban Embassy in Italy. Cuban rumba is part of the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and the exhibition will feature the Timbalaye group, as international promoter of Cuban Culture, alongside dancers Irma Castillo and Ulisses Mora, according to the official website of the event and confirmed by the Cuban representative.
