Cuba Considers Tourism Priorities for 2024

Cuban Tourism Minister Juan Carlos Garcia Granda said on TV that major priorities for the sector this year include the reception of over three million foreign visitors and the increase of air connections as well as the diversification of tourist sources.

Speaking at the prime-time “The Round Table” show, Garcia Granda noted that the keeping quality increase of tourist services to make them more competitive is a challenge ahead. He said that at present there are new air connections and larger flight frequencies (579 weekly flights) between Cuba and 32 countries, while new connections will take place in the upcoming summer season.

Cuba’s main sources of tourists in 2023 were Canada, Cubans abroad, Russia, and the United States, said the Minister and added that most European tourists come from Spain, Portugal and Germany, while a growing number come from Türkiye and Poland.
