Charter flights to Cayo Largo: Havanatur Argentina’s proposal for 2025
In January 2025, charter flights from Argentina to Cayo Largo will resume, as was announced during the recent International Tourism Fair 2024 (FIT), the most important tourism event in Latin America. Havanatur, the International Group of Tour Operators and Travel Agencies and leader in the promotion and commercialization of Cuba as a destination with 30 years experience, is once again proposing this exclusive offer for the Argentine public.
Eduardo Javier Suarez Pérez, president of Havanatur Argentina, talked to Mensajero about the proposal while at FIT 2024: “Our star product is the charter flight that will include an 8-night itinerary in Cayo Largo. It is a destination that Argentines know very well, since it is well positioned in Argentina, due to its excellent beach in the Caribbean Sea”.
And as an alternative proposal he highlighted, “Alongside BoA, also with confirmed capacity, we are offering a visit to see a little more of the main island too. The arrival is through Havana, then we continue to Cayo Santa María and Varadero, and the itinerary is for 15 nights.”
Cayo Largo is a sun and beach product with a good positioning in the region’s tourism market. “It has two beaches, Playa Sirena and Playa Paraíso, which are among the best in the world and are chosen again every year. In addition, it has an almost exclusive hotel infrastructure that for the past two years has been commercially and operationally managed by the Blue Diamond hotel group, with a variety of categories. For example, Starfish Cayo Largo, which is a 3-star plus facility; the 4-star Memories Cayo Largo; the 5-star Grand Memories Cayo Largo; and the Adults-Only Sanctuary at Grand Memories Cayo Largo.
When asked about the promotional work for this destination, Eduardo Javier Suarez explained that Cayo Largo has historically operated under a somewhat private “club” system, both for the segment of Canadian tourists arriving in Cuba as well as Italian and Argentinean charters. “We are offering exclusivity within a product to several markets, which I really believe deserve it and are those that have historically demanded this type of product and have enjoyed it.”
On the other hand, seats are guaranteed in combined packages through Cuba with BoA until May 2025. “It is important to know that the airline has good and very stable operations to Cuba. Connectivity is through Santa Cruz de la Sierra. In addition, with the guarantee of almost 8 nights for those who travel for a week, because the first night is a bonus for the customer, since they arrive at 1 am. The same goes for those who travel for two weeks, they get 15 nights,” he noted.
