Among turquoise and white tones, the sound of the sea, the colors of the sunset and the breeze that moves the transparent fabrics of the decorations, Cuba’s hotels offers ideal scenarios for celebrating weddings.
The Cubanacan Group, for instance, is committed to renewing its portfolio for this purpose. “Some time ago, Cubanacan organized more than 500 weddings a year. We have a catalog of products for these ceremonies, with all-inclusive and personalized options. In addition, in the vacation hotels (Brisas and Club Amigos) we have wedding coordinators who belong to the Public Relations area, in charge of managing all the details so that the bride and groom and the family and friends who participate can enjoy an excellent experience,” Yaima Suárez, vice president of the hotel chain, told TTC.
“Besides, these are repeat customers who come back to Cuba. Once you get married in a place, once you go for a vowel renewal, you come back. It’s a strategic market segment. We did the study and it reached 9% occupancy in our hotels between 2000 and 2018.”
Yoania Morales Reynaldo, in charge of organizing these ceremonies at the Hotel Brisas in Guardalavaca, Holguín, explains that they are currently focused on symbolic wedding ceremonies. “However, if a foreign couple comes who wish to have a legal wedding here, we can arrange it. We have different locations: two gazebos, one on the beach and the other in the garden. There are clients who are no longer interested in the gazebos and choose another beachfront location with simpler structure. We work with professional decorators who can guarantee a themed wedding according to the clients’ taste.”
A recent press release by ReportNews recommended the five-star resort The One Gallery, located in Cayo las Brujas, as an ideal option for those who wish to celebrate the ceremony of their dreams in a paradisiacal setting and, at the same time, with competitive prices in the tourist market.
The resort, which belongs to the Gaviota Tourism Group, with excellent accommodations throughout Cuba, offers three programs with a capacity of 20 people, discounts for children under 12 and everything necessary for the bride and groom to have an unforgettable experience: Diamond Wedding Package, Gold Wedding Package and Silver Wedding Package.
Foreign hotel chains also resort to this type of event to expand their commercial offers. Such is the case of Iberostar Cuba Hotels & Resorts, which offers the opportunity to enjoy the Cuban spirit through its weddings. With more than three decades organizing parties in its beach or city hotels, the chain assures that it can adapt services to the needs of clients by making available indoor and outdoor spaces: terraces, beaches or meeting rooms.
“And if you want to organize your honeymoon in Cuba, we invite you to discover the best beach destinations to make the trip unforgettable. We have adult-only hotels, where couples can celebrate their love as cupid commands. Enjoy extraordinary experiences and surprise your guests with unique days in the Caribbean,” the Mallorcan chain announces on its website.
Also on its digital platforms, Meliá Hotels assures that Cuba is perfect to start a new life together among legendary beaches and fiery sunsets, settings making for a unique ceremony.
Among the recommended packages, the bride and groom can choose a theme and add other personalized details. A team of coordinators is in charge of fulfilling every dream. Bridal rooms, romantic breakfasts and late check-out are other advantages Meliá offers, as well as special rates for bride, groom and guests, with discounts on other services according to the program.
Between two and five couples choose the Meliá Jardines del Rey hotel in Cayo Coco as the setting for their wedding ceremony every week. “If you want a spectacular wedding, completely different, Meliá can organize it,” Klaus Dieter Herrmann, then general director of the hotel, told TTC a few weeks ago.
Speaking to several press media during the International Tourism Fair, the German-born executive happily commented that they organize many events of this type every year. “Guests are from different countries, mainly from Canada. Recently we received wedding couples and their guests from Spain and Germany. We offer wedding packages that can occupy between ten and fifty rooms.”
Other options and recommendations are sure to be found by those who decide to live their love dream in Cuba.
