Cayo Santa María, a tourist resort located in north-central Cuba “that combines the magic of the Caribbean with the best of Cuban hospitality,” will be the venue of the 7th Destinos Gaviota Tourism Exhibition in 2025, which will also see events held in Tope de Collantes. This was announced by Carlos M. Latuff, president of the Gaviota Tourism Group, at the closing of this year’s edition of the event.
In recent days, more than a thousand participants, including tour operators, travel agents, specialized press and influencers from Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Spain, the United States, Portugal, Turkey, Germany, South Korea and other countries, traveled to Holguín to learn about and experience the charms of this destination and the development of the new resort of Ramón de Antilla.
“Each one of you has been key for this event to continue being a reference within tourism in Cuba. We have explored a territory full of contrasts and enchanting beauty,” the Gaviota presidente noted in his closing remarks, recalling the event’s program, which included tours of sites of cultural, natural and historic interest.
“I want to convey to you a message of confidence. Cuba continues to be a safe, welcoming and vibrant destination. Today more than ever we need you to keep sending your clients to our country so they can enjoy all that we have to offer. We are committed to continuing our services and providing an unforgettable experience that reflects the authenticity of our culture and the beauty of our landscape,” Latuff stressed.
The Gaviota Tourism Group manages 42,000 rooms in the main tourist resorts of the Cuban archipelago. Eighty-seven percent of its properties operate jointly with foreign hotel chains such as Blue Diamond, Meliá, Iberostar, Muthu Hotels, ATG, Valentín, Kempinski, Archipelago, Banyan Tree, Axel and Roc.
By 2025, the company expects to have 45,000 rooms available for travelers from all over the world. Some 1,400 will be located in Ramón de Antilla, where two hotels (Grand Memories Holguín and Sierra Cristal) already receive vacationers and a third is being built with modular technology that allows for faster progress.
In addition to the hotels, the Group has a travel agency, marinas, extra-hotel facilities, means of transportation and the logistical base to build and sustain operations in its hotel installations and the rest of its services.
