Behike, Cuba’s cigar, the centerpiece at the Habano Festival

The Behike Line of Premium Cohiba cigars is the centerpiece of Cuba’s 25th Habano Festival that open today in this capital with the participation of more than 1,000 delegates from 70 countries.

In 2010, after more than 40 successful years of Cohiba cigars, this novelty appeared, considered by experts as an excellent proposal for the market.

Since the beginning of that year, it gradually began to spread and be marketed around the world.

Behike was the fourth line of the famous Cohiba brand (Classic, 1492, Maduro and Behike), the most exclusive Cuban cigar of all times.

It is now the centerpiece of the 25th Habano Festival (February 24-28), a very cosmopolitan event that attracts both Premium and hand-rolled cigars aficionados and professionals (Havana Convention Palace, factories and plantations).

The Cohiba Behike, which underlines its exclusivity, comes in three formats, BHK 52, BHK 54 and BHK 56, with an above-average price, when even a single cigar of any other brand can cost more than 50 euros in Europe.

That production is extremely limited and incorporates in its blend, in all three vitolas, tobacco leaves called Medio tiempo (Half time) that provide a unique character and flavor.

In addition, a ring with two highly secure identification holograms is added.

Officials say this cigar has become the best-kept secret of Cohiba, a brand created in 1966 and the first to appear after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959.

Now, and ahead of its 15th birthday, Behike is the center of the Festival and even has a documentary series called The Magic of the Behike, the international corporation Habanos S.A. reported recently.

The Habanos S.A. Corporation is a world leader in the commercialization of premium cigars in both Cuba and the rest of the world.
