Boeing 787-Air Europa

Air Europa increases the number of new aircraft added to its fleet to ten by 2022 with the arrival of a new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. With this aircraft, the company fulfils the expansion plan outlined at the beginning of the year, which involved incorporating five Boeing 737s and five Boeing 787s into the fleet. With the latest Boeing 787s, 23 Boeing 787s are now available for long-haul operations.

The arrival of this additional Boeing 787 makes it possible to cope with the significant increase in activity recorded throughout the year, reflected in the recovery of routes and the increase in frequencies on connections to some of Air Europa’s most important destinations. It also reinforces the company’s solid strategic role in the Madrid-Barajas hub, where it is a key player in connectivity between Europe and America. In this way, the fleet, which is already at similar levels of available units to 2019, consolidates with models with greater capacity and more sustainable, while preparing to continue expanding its operations in 2023.

Throughout 2022, the airline has completed a major fleet unification process around two of the most advanced and efficient aircraft on the market: the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the Boeing 737. The Dreamliners stand out as the most innovative aircraft in their class, not only for the technical advances they incorporate, but also for their ability to reduce fuel consumption and emissions by 20%, as well as reducing noise impact by 60%.
